Ashley and Judy have been collecting and selling antiques and collectibles together since 1998 and have opened their own store in July of 2004.
They have found the perfect location in an old Hardware Store that was known as City Hardware for 30 years.  It was built in 1927 and was used as a furniture and hardware store from then on.

At that time and to this day the intersection of Grand and Malvern Avenues
has been a main thoroughfare for local business.  There is parking along the front and a large parking lot in the rear of the store with front and back entrances, as well.

This fully air conditioned building has 4,250 square feet of display with an upper level mezzanine.  Shoppers will enjoy vintage display bins and the atmosphere of the old bricks and wooden rafters.  Deer and Elk decorate the entrance and two story atrium.  It has been a real joy to fill the store with great collectibles from all categories and to display the latest trends
with treasures of the past.

If you would like to share your "Merry Vintage Christmas" collection photos with us send your photos to judy@judysdesigns.com and we will add them to our "Merry Vintage Christmas" website page.  Write a little something about your collection and how you got started and how many you have.  Anything you want to add will be greatly appreciated.  Please include your permission for us to use it on our website.  We are very interested in seeing other folk's Vintage Christmas Collections.

We mourn the loss of our Family Patriarch,

William H. "Bill" Williams

  on March 5, 2009.

His enthusiasm and generosity for his family and friends

is truly missed in our store and throughout our lives.

About Judy, the Artist and Collector

Since 1969 Judy has designed and made traditional, appliquéd, quilted pillows, wall hangings, Christmas Stockings and other one-of-a-kind treasures.

She also made a how-to video in 1987.  Judy uses the sewing machine like a paint brush, creating and finishing all the intricate details.  Her designs have appeared in
Southern Living's Christmas magazines
and have been purchased by three generations.

They have been purchased and displayed by
"Bass Pro Shop" in Springfield, Missouri.

Judy has retired from making these items since they opened the antique store.  She has always collected antiques and in 1998 she began selling them on ebay and in booths.  She and her husband, Bill, have had a great deal of experience buying and pricing affordable finds.  Judy also paints vintage windows with Christmas designs and also hand paints vintage furniture with original designs.

AboutAshley, the Artist and Collector

Ashley, the store manager, has graduated with a degree in art
from the University of East Carolina
and has managed in retail and has been a computer consultant
since her graduation.  Her artistic talents are unsurpassed
in selecting merchandise and in its display.
Customers often ask her how she does it.
It just comes naturally for Ashley.
She has been buying and selling for several years
and has a real talent for finding just the right niche
for her favorite categories.
Her flamboyant style and sense of color
is a real asset to the store.
Ashley has been asked to participate in her own radio program
each week called "Antiquing with Ashley."
She will be discussing the latest trends and answering questions.

Our home at Christmastime

Judy says, "The house logo that I use on my website is the one I  have used for over fourteen years when advertising my "Open House."  I opened the doors to my home and allow the residents of Hot Springs to tour the bottom floor of our home and serve them hot spiced tea and homemade goodies.   My sister and I use to sell our handcrafted items during this time.   Glenda and I collaborated a lot, including a "how-to" video in 1987.   Since her death in 1993 I rely on my daughters' input a great deal.   Through the years when I think back on our original struggles I have fond memories of the history of our American heritage in crafts and collectibles and how it all evolved. "
After our house fire on February 10, 2007, our home was reconstructed.  We have moved back in.  However, we lost our beloved animals.  They will never be replaced.  It was caused by a computer getting too hot in a matter of minutes.  Turn your computer off when you leave and make sure it is approved by Underwriters Laboratories.  We were not at home.  We recommend that you put an escape doggy door in your home for your animals.  We have.

More Family History

Judy says, "As a young mother I wanted to stay at home with my children, so I started making handmade crafts to utilize my inherited artistic talent. Being the daughter of a sign
painter and department store window trimmer, I had been introduced to the life of an artist. (My parents' wedding picture appears on the mantel of our home below.)   My father, Raymond Collier, had his own studio in the third floor of a department store and I use to climb up on his stool and watch him paint huge "Sale" signs.  Going to East Carolina College Art School and learning about placement and color  was a dream come true. Displaying my artwork and crafts in retail stores and craft shows has been truly rewarding, and my children have been raised with a hands-on mother.

Now, my two daughters, Kelly and Ashley, have become artists and my son, Will, has his own computer consulting business. The two venues have joined with the creation of our web site. We are excited about our new found tool.  We have two son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.  Our family keeps growing.  Now that we are buying and selling Antiques and Collectibles I have widened my scope on the Internet.   I am known as "greensatin" on "www.ebay.com" the on line auction site.  I am enjoying creating a good reputation for fairness.
Welcome to my world."

When we are not at the store and have time to put things on ebay,
our Ebay name is Greensatin for Moonlight Antiques.
We are also selling on Ruby Lane.
